Responsible for the accurate and timely execution of the corporate accounting function within a Geo for the specific income/spend type as applicable. For example, revenue, inventory, selling, general & admin expenses (SG&A) such as payroll, fixed assets, leases, close and consolidations, etc. Serves as the point of contact for business partners for accounting inquiries and resolves escalations
Responsibilities
- Maintains documentation of corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls as influenced by local requirements.
- Reviews significant contracts to ensure accounting accuracy and appropriate accounting treatment, addressing any accounting implications.
- Provides technical accounting guidance on complex transactions, including legal transactions, impairment, and investments
- Leads methodology to account for reserves based on historical performance and business conditions.
- Collaborates with business partners (e.g., FP&A) to review/analyze monthly actual results against forecast
- Prepares, reviews, and approves manual journal entries (MJEs) related to specific income/spend type, and resolves complex
- discrepancies and reconciliation issues.
- Reviews and approves MJEs prepared by MSP (shared delivery partner)
- Prepares, reviews, and approves reporting packages of corporate accounting activities within a Geo.
- Supports and provides accounting guidance for new business models and transactions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance,
- Business, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in finance or accounting
- Certified Public Accountant preferred (or local equivalent)
- Technical accounting knowledge
- Certified Public Accountant preferred (or local equivalent)
