About the Role:
We're looking for a Corporate Controller to join our small, dynamic Group Controlling team at our headquarter in Amsterdam (other European facilities as base are also possible). As part of an international listed environment, our team is responsible for all group-wide internal and external financial reporting, including external audits, treasury activities, and tax management. Additionally, we design and implement internal control frameworks, drive continuous improvement, and optimize processes within the finance area, along with performing internal control reviews.
Working closely with the Board shortens decision-making paths and ensures that we achieve our goals as quickly as possible. You will work in a team of 4 and report to our Group Controller while liaising with the international Finance and Controlling community. Occasional travel to our international locations will be required.
The ideal candidate has an independent sharp mind, with a hands on mentality and is able to set priorities between a wide range of independent tasks.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- External Audit: Plan, coordinate and execute external audits
- Internal Audit: Run our Internal Audit in cooperation with our local facilities worldwide by preparing and executing the interviews and control testing, and by summarizing and following up findings
- Financial Statements: Prepare annual consolidated IFRS financial statements, including ESEF
- IFRS Standards: Ensure correct group-wide adaptation of IFRS standards, including preparing accounting position papers
- Treasury activities: Support the team by monitoring cash positions, planning and overseeing all cashflows relating to internal and external financing and related derivatives and maintaining the bank portal
- Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement of internal controls and financial processes and follow up on audit findings
- Tax Management Support: Prepare documents and analyses for tax compliance, tax accounting and transfer pricing
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Support management with finance-related projects such as M&A, corporate finance activities, and new reporting requirements
Ideally you have:
- Minimum of 8 years experience preferably within one of the big 4 accounting firms
- Master in Finance or Accountancy
- Strong affinity with internal control framework and process development.
- A good understanding of information technology, e.g. BI systems and AI
- An enthusiastic, pro-active and self-starting personality with a drive to make a difference
- Experience with ERP solutions
- Ability to balance different priorities and manage different projects simultaneously in a structured way
