What is the purpose of the job?
The Finance Manager oversees the company's financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, effective risk management, and regulatory compliance. This global role is office based, with the option to work from home, and reports to our CFO at our headquarters in Gorinchem.
We seek an enthusiastic finance manager with knowledge of financial reporting standards and practices (e.g., IFRS), expertise in budget preparation and monitoring, and the ability to manage a small finance team. Understanding tax laws and regulations is also essential.
You will be responsible for:
Team Leadership and Development: Guide and develop the Finance team (3FTE) to ensure optimal performance and professional growth and foster a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Financial Reporting: Responsible for the Monthly closing, incl. global consolidation: prepare and further develop comprehensive financial reports incl. analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for business decisions and managing the annual audit cycle.
Budget Management: Review, monitor, and manage the budget in collaboration with stakeholders: Provide regular budget updates and forecasts to ensure financial targets are met.
Tax compliance: prepare and submit accurate tax assessments in compliance with relevant regulations. Liaise with tax authorities and ensure timely resolution of any tax related issues, for multiple countries.
Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating financial risks by working closely together with the sales team.
This role encompasses a wide range of finance responsibilities, including general ledger management, credit control, compliance, legal matters, and international payroll issues. You should enjoy being hands-on at times and find satisfaction in working on calculations such as WBSO subsidies or the WKR ruling in the Netherlands. Overall, you will be our specialist for all financial processes. You thrive in a challenging environment with a broad scope of financial
activities in an international setting. We are currently implementing an ERP system, and your participation will be essential. It's beneficial if you enjoy questioning the status quo to help us improve our processes.
What does your background and skillset look like?
Experience:
o Master’s degree in finance/accounting, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification is an advantage.
o Experience as a Finance Manager, including managerial experience (at least 3-5 years of experience in a comparable role).
o Infor M3 experience is seen as an advantage.
Knowledge & Skills:
o Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills, and a high level of integrity.
o Strong communication skills; fluent in English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
o Thrives on working in a challenging environment.
