We are looking for a highly skilled Finance professional to join our team.
As the Director of Finance, you'll be part of an exciting journey, managing a dynamic team of accountants responsible for the month-end close process of our European business. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring the consolidation and statutory compliance of our financials, guaranteeing impeccable quality in all deliverables.
You'll be a key player in daily financial operations, facilitating our rapid scaling and supporting business initiatives. This isn't just about crunching numbers; it's about shaping the future of a highly regulated industry. In this role, you’ll partner closely with our Senior Director of Finance and EU leadership, providing strategic insights and gaining exposure to all aspects of financial operations, while helping us shape it and take it to the next level.
In this role, you’ll
Act as an accounting oversight function to ensure adherence to accounting standards
Oversee the month-end close process
Manage an annual audit and relationship with the auditors
Prepare accounting memos for new business developments
Collaborate with other functions across the company to ensure you have a good understanding of all activities related to the European business
Assist with transfer pricing maintenance and implementation
Oversee tax reporting including: VAT, IPT, and Corporate income tax
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and implement best practices
Support business growth in new markets and products
Communicate financial performance and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA preferred)
Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
9+ years working in public accounting or in the fintech/financial services industries
Experience managing month-end closing processes
Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and financial statements
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to both senior management and external stakeholders.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
Project management skills and a knack for juggling multiple responsibilities and deadlines
Familiarity or experience with P&C insurance is an advantage
Proficiency in English, required
Ability to work in an office 3 days a week
