The Alternative Fixed Income team focusses on delivering attractive risk-adjusted returns, by investing in less traditional and/or illiquid assets within the Fixed Income universe. The team covers a broad spectrum of investment opportunities globally, and manages a range of investment funds for its clients, such as Asset Backed Securities, Residential Mortgages, Impact loans with Government/ECA Guarantees, Insured Credit, Infrastructure debt, (short/long term) loans to Private Equity funds, Corporate Private Placements and Direct Lending to SME & Midcap companies. The ~60FTE global investment team manages around €75bln in assets, predominantly for external clients, such as pension funds, insurance companies, banks and wholesalers.
We are looking to expand the Insured Strategies and European Private Placement team within Alternative Fixed Income with a Technical Portfolio Manager (“Technical PM”) who will be the main point of contact for other departments, such as Middle Office, Back Office and Risk Management. The Technical PM team will be responsible for the operational aspects of investments that Insured Strategies and European Private Placement team is making, across a range of funds and mandates. The Technical PM will also help with reporting, audits, marketing and general portfolio management tasks across the various products.
Reporting into the Head of Insured Strategies and European Private Placements:
You are responsible for aspects within the transaction due diligence process, including CDD/KYC, collecting ESG information, collecting and storing preliminary transaction documentation, etc. You will be the main point of contact for the Compliance department.
You are responsible for aspects within transaction execution, such as documentation execution, setting up transactions in our trading and Back Office systems, coordinate capital calls with investors, etc. You will be the main point of contact for all relevant Middle Office and Back Office departments.
You are responsible for various portfolio management tasks across the different products within the team, such as review transaction data is correct, loan covenant monitoring and testing, safeguarding and monitoring investment mandate restrictions, operational tasks w.r.t. non-payment events, cash reconciliation, etc. You will be the main point of contact with agents or counterparties and all relevant Middle Office and Back Office departments and Risk department on these aspects.
You are responsible for different kinds of reporting to various counterparties and stakeholders, such as investment and commitment reporting to internal and external stakeholders, etc.
You are responsible for various governance and audit tasks, assisting in annual or ad-hoc audit cycles, update of policies and procedures, etc. You will be the main point of contact with external counterparties and the Risk and Compliance departments on these aspects.
You are responsible in assisting the PMs with marketing, such as keeping marketing materials up to date. You will be the main point of contact with the Marketing team, Risk and Compliance on these aspects.
Requirements
As a Technical Portfolio Manager, you are a dedicated team player with a hands on mentality and result oriented. You have good communication skills. You are accurate and have an eye for detail. You are optimistic and like to work within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Moreover, You Have The Following Qualifications
University degree, preferably in Finance, Economics or Econometrics.
3+ years’ experience in (operational) handling of private assets at another asset management firm or at a bank preferable
Experience or affinity with loan/bond administration systems and data analysis
Fluent in English, and preferably also in Dutch
Good people skills and able to communicate effectively with in variety of teams and stakeholders
You are DSI certified or willing to register with the DSI and meet the compulsory Guidelines of the European Securities Markets Authority (ESMA) on knowledge, skills and expertise
